Saints launch new schools' initiative

THE New Saints Football Club is due to launch the Schools Saturday Team Club this weekend when they host Bala Town at Park Hall.

Pupils from Criftins Primary School will be the first visitors on Saturday as the club targets over 20 schools in the area to participate in the first of a number of new initiatives.
The day will consist of a tour of the changing rooms, football coaching, a 10-pin bowling challenge as well as having the opportunity to watch The New Saints in Welsh Premier action against the Lakesiders.
"It’s the start of a number of community initiatives that the club is in the process of organising," says the club's general manager Ian Williams (pictured).
"Our aim is to provide positive, sustainable sports and educational activities for young people in the Oswestry and surrounding areas, using the football club as a tool to engage with the local community.
"Our involvement will extend across many areas such as health, education, social inclusion and equalities, underlining our commitment to make a positive difference to the local area.
"The New Saints will continue to be proactive and continue to raise standards of support to the local community and hopefully encourage more people to support the club."
