Missed chances again costly for Ladies

IT was the same old story as TNS Ladies dominated a game and created plenty of chances only to end up on the wrong end of 2-1 FA Cup first round scoreline at Dudley.
A long hopeful ball after just four minutes was poorly defended by TNS and the home team took the lead and worse was to follow after 14 minutes as the hosts doubled their advantage.
The rest of the game was played out in Dudley’s half and TNS were guilty of missing chance after chance, with each missed opportunity heaping more pressure on our girls.
After missing several more great chances in the opening period of the second half, the signs looked ominous.
Dudley camped out in their own penalty box as TNS applied constant pressure.
When Sally Jones scored from 20 yards with 25 minutes to go, the Ladies felt the game would turn their way. But they were met by a well-drilled Dudley brick wall, which was difficult to break down.
"It seems to be a trade mark of TNS this season to dominate, yet lose matches. Difficult to excuse losing this game though. It’s an all time low for us all," says manager Tony Ridge.
