Accies release Chris King

FORMER The New Saints' wing back Chris King has left League Two Accrington Stanley after 18 months at the club.

The 29-year-old had his contract cancelled "by mutual consent" after an injury-hit campaign which, says the club, made it unlikely he would feature again before his current deal expires at the end of December.
Chris moved to Stanley from TNS at the start of last season and made more than 30 appearances.
He joined the Saints from Southport in the summer of 2002 and was first-choice at left back, winning a place in the Welsh Premier's dream teams for seasons 2006/7 and 2007/8.
He made 128 (+14) Welsh Premier appearances in a Saints' shirt, scoring nine goals, and lifted three championship medals as well as helping the club to success in the Welsh Cup, League Cup and FAW Premier Cup.
