Saints miss chance to top the table

TNS somehow contrived to drop two points at The Traeth in a match they dominated from start to finish, missing-out on their chance to top the table.

A comfortable win looked on the cards once Jamie Wood had latched on to Chris Seargeant's ball over the top and netted past keeper Richard Morgan on 21 minutes.
But they were left to rue a host of missed chances when Aden Shannon levelled from the penalty spot on 63 minutes, after Chris Marriott had brought down Chris Jones in the box, a goal that ended a defensive clean sheet that had lasted for 959 minutes.
Seargeant had failed to take advantage of an early opportunity when Morgan dropped the ball and Steve Evans sent his effort over the target from a Seargeant free-kick.
Steve Abbott headed wide from another Seargeant set-piece and missed another chance soon after the break.
Abbott also shot straight at the keeper from 20 yards, while Wood was inches over the bar from Matthew Berkeley's inside pass.
The introduction of subs Craig Williams and Alex Darlington failed to improve the Saints' fortunes, although Williams brought a good save from Morgan with a well-struck free kick.
But as the minutes ticked by, TNS gradually lost their shape and their discipline, as Phil Baker was red-carded for his remarks to the referee in stoppage time to cap a frustrating night.
