Brabs in the frame for Robins' role

GARY Brabin is believed to be among the front runners to fill the managerial vacancy at League Two Cheltenham Town, following the departure "by mutual consent" of Martin Allen.

Brabin, Chris Burns and Mark Yates have emerged as major contenders for the Robins' post from more than 60 applications before last Friday's deadline.
Former TNS midfielder and assistant manager Brabin took Cambridge to runners-up spot in the Blue Square Premier last season, but they lost out to Torquay United in the play-off final.
He was also named the Conference manager of the season, but left the club in the summer after a dispute with chairman George Rolls and has since been working as chief scout for Luton Town.
Brabin was a team-mate of Cheltenham's caretaker boss John Schofield at Hull.
