Saints bid to reclaim the summit

THE New Saints bid to return to the Welsh Premier summit when they host local rivals Technogroup Welshpool at Park Hall on New Year's Day.

A win would see the Saints back on top for at least 24 hours, with current leaders Llanelli not due to play until Saturday.
The squad was able to train at Park Hall on New Year's Eve after a massive snow clearing operation and everyone is in contention for a place after two weeks of inactivity, apart from defender Phil Baker, who serves the second game of his two-match ban after being sent-off at Porthmadog.
Welshpool hope to have international clearance in time to play Danny Jones in goal, after receiving FAW dispensation to play the keeper who will replace Jack Cudworth, now at Rhyl.
It will also be the last game in Lilywhites' colours for ex-TNS midfielder Richie Harris, who is set to join Newtown.
