Junction boss magnanimous in defeat

ALTHOUGH TNS ended Llandudno Junction’s dream of becoming the first Welsh Alliance team to reach the Welsh Cup quarter-finals, home boss Shane Cartwright was magnanimous in defeat.

"We were hoping the pitch would act as a leveller but they were just a class act all over the field," said the Junction boss.
"No-one at the club is disappointed in any way. Every one of the players impressed me, and I was proud of their efforts, especially as we didn’t give up and kept going until the end."
Cartwright was also full of praise for the opposition, adding: "They were very professional and full credit to them for putting a full side out.
"They were top class on and off the field and very courteous."
A brace apiece from Steve Abbott and Chris Seargeant, plus goals from defenders Phil Baker and Steve Evans, saw the Saints safely into the last eight and a home clash with Port Talbot Town.
