Saints are just mad about Paddy

IMPRESSED by his performance against them in the Champions League on Tuesday night, the Saints have made a formal approach to Bohemians about striker Paddy Madden.

The 21-year-old has emerged as a leading scorer for the Irish champions in recent months and was a constant threat in the 1-0 defeat at Dalymount Park on Tuesday night.
"I'm sure that Paddy Madden could play at a much higher level in the English system and that we could provide an ideal shop window for his talents," says TNS managing director Mike Harris.
"With my contacts at Chelsea, Leeds and other clubs, we could help Paddy to move on to greater things in the game, if that is what he wants, and also provide Bohemians with a sell-on clause if we can do business."
Madden only scored his first Bohs' goal in September last year but capped a fine season by making his debut for the Irish Under-21 side against Armenia.
