Academy perform with credit against WBA

The New Saints Academy v West Bromwich Albion Development Centre
Last Saturday on a glorious sunny day at Park Hall the results of the matches v WBA Development Centre were as follows:
The U8s drew 3-3, U9s won 6-1, U10 lost 0-7, U11s lost 0-3, U12s drew 0-0 and the U13s drew 3-3.
This was a creditable performance by all the teams when we take into consideration that this was our first series of matches this season following our first training session last Thursday.
We have to give a special mention for our younger teams as the U8s and U9s were both outstanding in their attitude and ability, with the under 9s in scintillating goalscoring form.
The U10s were up against a very talented West Brom team and will have learned a lot despite being well beaten.
The under 11s competed well but despite giving everything eventually lost to a good West Brom side.
The U12s were excellent and rather unfortunate not to come out on top after giving an outstanding performance in the second half.
The U13s took a 2-0 lead then went 2-3 behind before recovering to equalise before the end. Well done for the effort shown in battling back in the heat of the afternoon against a very smooth passing exhibition from West Brom.
All in all a superb day, great performances by all teams, exemplary behavior from all players and spectators with wonderful weather to round it all off.
Many thanks to all Academy & Venue staff for their efforts and to all TNS players and parents that attended.
A special mention also to everyone from the West Brom Development Centre including coaches and spectators and to Dave Price for helping us all to bring it together.

The New Saints Academy Manager.
