Excellent academy results against Llanelli

On Sunday 28th the U12s, U14s and U16s played Llanelli as a prelude to the first team’s vital win over Llanelli in their battle to win the Welsh Premier Championship. Best wishes from all at the Academy.
Our U12s and U14s played at Oswestry School and both teams gave good accounts of themselves overall.
The U12s were outstanding and overpowered their opponents 6-1 with a display that made light of a tricky playing surface. This squad has improved beyond recognition since the season began and great credit must go to all squad members and their coach Eric Ramsay.
The U14s lost 1-3 despite leading 1-0 at half time but the fact they have lost some of their squad recently makes things difficult and they need time to gel as a team following the changes. Thanks to Martin Mitten who has done an excellent job over the season despite facing recent problems in selection.
The U16s go from strength to strength and at Park Hall they were in superb form in a 7-3 defeat of Llanelli.
This squad has also had a terrific season since winning the U16 group at the Shrewsbury tournament. They have continued to maintain their standards throughout and have been a credit to their coaches Steve Benyon and Scott Ruscoe.
We still have games to come for the U13s this Thursday at 8.00pm kick off and for U12/14 and 16 squads in the cup quarter finals. We are also still trying to arrange some extra games for other age groups. Watch this space!
