Disappointing results for Academy

LAST weekend produced some disappointing results for the Academy admittedly against very strong opposition.
On Saturday the U11s lost 1-2 to Bristol Rovers Development Centre but their display was a great improvement as when we played Bristol last season we lost 7-1.
The U13 lost 0-4 to a very good Bristol team who were much better than us on the day and thoroughly deserved their win. Some excellent individual performances were given by us but some were below average.
This game had to be cut short due to a nasty leg injury to one of the Bristol players who was taken to Shrewsbury Hospital and happily has since made a good recovery. Many thanks to Gordie Evans from The Venue and the Ambulance and Medical Staff involved who demonstrated high levels of professionalism.
On Sunday the U12s lost 1-7 and the U14s lost 1-5 to Porthmadog at Oswestry School. The Porthmadog teams were very strong and outplayed us despite both our teams battling hard right to the final whistle.
Last fixtures for this year are at The Venue next Wednesday 23rd December.
