Encouraging week for the academy

A BUSY week for the Academy teams got off to a disappointing start on Thursday night when the Under-13s lost 1-3 to a very good Airbus outfit who were the better team on the night although both teams played some superb football.
On Saturday we again entertained Airbus at the Venue and the Under-9s lost 3-5 in an exciting game while the Under-10s were in prolific form gaining a 14-1 victory.
The Under-11s put on a polished performance to win 3-1 and most important was the way they played out from the back to make the game a delight to watch.
On Saturday morning the Under-15s played Shrewsbury and despite a depleted squad put on a gutsy display eventually going down 1-3. The Under-16s lost 2-0 to Shrewsbury in a close fought encounter.
On Sunday we played our Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 League matches against Connah's Quay.
The Under-12s played an unbeaten Connah's Quay outfit and despite going 3-0 down put on a tremendous fightback to draw 4-4, undoubtedly their best effort of the season so far.
The Under-14s continued their good form with a 2-1 victory and the Under-16s also came out on top 3-2.
All in all a very encouraging set of results and thanks to all players and coaches involved for your commitment and behavior throughout all the matches.
