Dominant Ladies overpower Borough
Monday 22 March 2021
As in many games this season, the Ladies dominated the game but in this case they scored the goals, and didn’t give away any at the back.
It looked a case of attack v defence from the kick off and a very physical Borough team couldn’t get out of their own half.
Sally Jones travelling back from University to help us out, opened the scoring after just 11 minutes and a terrific 25-yard free kick from Sian Skelton made it 2-0 on 22 minutes.
A great team move ended with the superb Jones thumping in her second and the third TNS goal after 26 minutes.
The only time the visitors got anywhere near our goal it ended in a dubious penalty and 3-1 at half time didn’t reflect our dominance.
The second half continued in the same fashion, with TNS pushing for the next goal which we felt would end the game as a contest.
Another thumping free kick, this time from Alicia Robinson, gave us breathing space after 57 minutes.
Not to be outdone, Jones scored from another free kick from 20 yards to complete her hatrick.
Subs Katie Doster, Sarah Burke and Chloe Mapp were introduced and they all impressed greatly.
TNS should have added to their goal tally before Amy Tomie scored on four minutes from time with a fantastic turn following a shot by Chloe Mapp which rattled the crossbar.
