Assistant manager John Carroll is leaving Saints.
ASSISTANT manager John Carroll has left Treflan as the club plans a major step forward in its coaching structure.
Managing director Mike Harris confirmed today that TNS are seeking a 'high profile' coach to assist manager Ken McKenna with first team affairs in addition to coordinating football activities at all levels throughout the club.
The appointment is designed to bridge the gap between the first team, reserves, scholarship scheme and academy structure.
"It is impossible for Ken McKenna alone to maintain control of all our football talent, in addition to his first-team duties," said Mike Harris.
"We want to integrate all the personnel in the club and be in a position to nurture all our players and bring the best of them through to the Welsh Premier.
"It will need someone who already possesses a Uefa 'A' Licence in addition to excellent organisational, motivational and communication skills.
"The person appointed would assist Ken McKenna to complete his own 'A' Licence and develop a unified approach across all levels within the club."
Harris paid tribute to Carroll, saying "I would like to thank John for his service to the club."
"It is unfortunate that, with the proposed change in our coaching structure, our budget does not allow for the assistant manager's position to be sustained."
An experienced coach and manager in his own right, Carroll was in charge at Halifax Town, Runcorn and Gateshead before joining TNS.
