Peter Wilding is set to hang up his boots.
WELSHPOOL Town's Peter Wilding is set to hang up his boots at the age of 35 after an impressive career in the game.
The former Shrewsbury Town and Telford United utility player has decided to call time on his playing days after a tough year at Maesydre.
Wilding, nicknamed Pete the Feet, believes the time is right to completely retire from the game to devote more time to his plastering business and his family.
He said: "I'm thinking of packing it in to be honest because it's been hard work for me this season.
"I've been spoiled by having six years at Shrewsbury as a professional and to be a full-time footballer was more than I could have ever wished for.
"But to go back to the part-time game was very difficult especially when you've got full-time work and a family."
Wilding joined Welshpool in the summer of 2003 after being voted Shrewsbury Town’s player of the season and made 24 league appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring once.
He also spent some time at Newtown in a career which started with Bridgnorth Town.
