Tony Pennock
WALES' semi-professional international goalkeeper Tony Pennock has joined Carmarthen Town after an about-turn by Nationwide Third Division Swansea City.
Pennock (pictured), who was released by Nationwide Conference side Farnborough Town at the end of last season, had been training with the Swans all summer and had allegedly "shaken hands" on a one-year contract with director Huw Jenkins, only to then be told that the deal was for three months only.
The former Yeovil Town and Hereford United 'keeper said: "I cannot believe the amateurish way in which this has been done, and a three-month contract for someone with a mortgage and a family is simply no good."
Jenkins said: "I am not aware Tony Pennock had been promised a one-year contract. As far as I know, nobody at Swansea had promised him that sort of deal.
"It was always my plan to offer Tony a short-term deal, either a monthly or three-month contract."
