Midfielder
Steven Beck has signed a new one-year contract at Treflan. |
WITH pre-season training set to resume on Wednesday, Saints have moved to secure
the services of two of last season's brightest prospects.
Young midfielders Barry Hogan (21) and Steven Beck (20) have signed new one-year
contracts at TNS, as manager Ken McKenna builds the nucleus of his squad.
And the experienced Nicky Ward has also put pen to paper, with the rest of the
out-of-contact players due in for talks with the management this week.
Former England Under-16 international and Everton starlet Beck signed non-contract
last July and made 12 full Welsh Premier appearances, earning the title of 'supersub'
with 16 often highly effective entries from the bench.
Barry Hogan impressed with some mature performances in midfield and as defensive
cover after signing from Runcorn FC Halton in mid-season.
Nicky Ward, one of the few survivors from the 2000 title winning side, again
showing his adaptability in midfield or upfront, scoring five league goals from
16 starts (plus 7 as sub) in a season interrupted by injury.
Tommy Holmes, John Toner, John Leah, Chris Taylor and Jamie Wood are the other
players still without contracts. |
