BUSTER GETS PITMEN COACHING ROLE
FORMER TNS striker Steve Anthrobus has been appointed coach to Southern League Premier Division club Hednesford Town.
Player/manager Chris Brindley caused a surprise by appointing Anthrobus as his assistant, just a few weeks after the former Wimbledon, Shrewsbury Town and Crewe man had been released by the FA Trophy winners.
“We’re both answering to 35-years-old and are available for selection!" said Brindley.
“Steve is a popular fellow who has bags of experience having played over 200 times in the Football League.
“He’s also a qualified coach and I think that’s the direction in which he’s looking to go.
“Both of us are reaching the end of our playing careers and doubtlessly we will make mistakes."
Anthrobus was released by the Saints at the end of 2002/3 after scoring nine goals in 51 appearances (plus 19 as sub).
