DISAPPOINTED Ken McKenna admitted it was the same old story after seeing his side slip to a 2-0 defeat at Swedish side Osters in the Uefa Cup first qualifying round.
Having defended in determined fashion at the Varendsvallen Stadium, the Saints were finally breached after tiring in the closing stages.
And the TNS boss reflected: "It's the same old story every year. We've gone into the game with just three friendlies behind us, while they are in mid-season having played 14 league games.
"To be fair, they were the better side, looked sharper and well organised but we contained them for 70 odd minutes before blowing up.
"The critics are going to come out again, but a lot of it comes down to the fact that the timing of these games is all wrong and is a big disadvantage for clubs like ours.
"It's physically impossible and makes it very frustrating."
