DOUBLE SIGNING FOR SAINTS |
 |
 |
JIMMY Aggrey and Jamie Wood have signed for the Saints.
The duo put pen to paper before last night's friendly at Vauxhall Motors.
Aggrey has impressed in pre-season with some commanding performances in central defence, and is seen as vital cover for Steve Evans, who is still recovering from a hernia operation.
A regular in Chelsea's youth team, Jimmy had a spell at Fulham before making almost 100 league appearances for Torquay United.
Last season he made 10 appearances in Yeovil Town's Conference winning side.
Striker Jamie Wood is a former Manchester United trainee who has been capped by the Cayman Islands.
Also able to operate as a winger or in midfield, he joined Swansea City on a one year contract for 2002/3 but was injured during the season and then released on a free in May.
With League experience at Hull City and Halifax Town, Saints will be hoping he can add some firepower to the attack - he has so far scored twice in friendlies. Both the new signings featured in last night's disappointing 2-0 defeat by Vauxhall
Motors - see match report
Four other triallists who have appeared in TNS shirts this summer - Alan Delahunty, Alex Stacey, Lee Chaffey and Gareth Sudlow - do not appear to figure in Saints' plans for the new campaign. |
