SPIKE AGREES TO HELP OUT SEAGULLS
ABERYSTWYTH Town's Lee Spike has signed forms for Unibond Leaguers Colwyn Bay, initially for a month.
The former Rhyl and Aberystwyth Town striker has agreed to help out Seagull's boss Adie Jones, who has lost James McIlvogue to a training injury which could rule him out for several weeks.
Robbie Chesters and Calvin Davies are also missing, so Jones has moved for the Aber hit-man as a stopgap measure.
Spike was a target for TNS boss Ken McKenna, who served seven days' notice for the player two weeks ago.
His interest has cooled since Spike's former colleague Marc Lloyd-Williams went to Treflan on a month's trial.
Spike is looking for a new club after leaving Aberystwyth and Llanelian Road boss Jones says: "He has agreed to help us out short-term and although we hope we can persuade him to stay, I expect other clubs to come in for him."
