SAINTS have moved before the Uefa transfer deadline to sign on non-contract forms, Steven Beck, a promising 19-year old midfield player.
Born in Liverpool and a former member of the Everton youth academy, Beck (pictured in an Everton shirt) played for the Under-18s in 2001/2 and was a member of the under-19 squad last season, before being released on a free by the Toffees in June.
He made one appearance for the Everton first team in a friendly against Chester City in July 2002.
Steven won an international cap for England Under-16s.
Beck was among a list of 122 unemployed Premiership players published by the Professional Footballers' Assocation recently when they expressed their concern at the number of footballers being released by clubs looking to trim their squads.
It will be interesting to see whether manager Ken McKenna introduces his latest acquisition in Saints' next home game - against Everton!
Beck is Saints' fourth signing of the summer, after Simon Davies (Bangor City), Jimmy Aggrey (Yeovil Town) and Jamie Wood (Swansea) joined the club.
