FORMER Oswestry and TNS midfielder Maurice Doyle has joined Carlsberg West Cheshire League club Castrol Social as player/manager.
Jobless after the Oswestry/TNS merger, the 34-year-old former QPR, Millwall, Crewe and Shrewsbury player has chosen his native Ellesmere Port to kick-start his managerial career after spending a year out of the game.
"It's really nice to return home as I know a few of the lads and I spent 10 years away when I was playing in London," he said.
Highlight of Doyle's career was playing for QPR at Anfield against Liverpool, the team he supports.
Doyle scored nine goals in 56 Welsh Premier appearances for the two border clubs.
