FOREST GREEN WANT DEAN WILLIAMS
Aberystwyth Town keeper Dean Williams
AILING Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers have served seven days' notice of approach for Aberstwyth Town goalkeeper Dean Williams, as new manager Alan Lewer aims to halt the side's slump.
Should the former TNS stopper leave for The Lawn, it could cast doubt on the future of midfielder David Bridgwater at Park Avenue, as both players are Midlands-based and travel together.
Bridgwater himself trialled with Forest Green in the summer.
Williams was first-choice at TNS until a dispute with the club management sidelined him in January.
Along with Bridgwater, he signed for Aberystwyth's InterToto Cup games against FC Dinaburg and has held the gloves since.
"Obviously we want to keep him at Aberystwyth, he has done well for us in the opening few games of the season and it would be a bad time for us to lose him," Aber boss David Burrows told the Cambrian News.
Williams has made 54 Welsh Premier appearances.
His dispute with TNS - due to be hard at an industrial tribunal in Shrewsbury tomorrow - has been settled to the satisfaction of both parties.
