Skipper John Leah is back in training along with Martin Naylor
LONG-term injured duo Martin Naylor and John Leah are back in training this week after several weeks on the sidelines.
Wing back Naylor has missed the first two months of the Welsh Premier season after surgery on an anterior impingement of the ankle, known as 'footballer's ankle'.
Skipper Leah was taken to hospital at half-time in the home game against Caernarfon after sustaining a fractured cheekbone, which also required surgery.
Now both are on the road to regaining fitness, with Naylor almost certainly available for selection in the next home league game against Bangor City on the last Saturday of October.
Although Leah could be fit for that game also, it is possible the Saints' management will resist the temptation to rush the midfielder back into action, as another blow to the cheekbone could have serious consequences.
Provided all the other walking wounded are fit to return, it leaves Ken McKenna and Andy Cale with some interesting selection choices after TNS have performed so well in their recent victories.
