Aden Shannon Druids' striker Shannon is set to move to Welshpool
WELSHPOOL Town are set to sign NEWI Cefn Druids' Aden Shannon.
The 24-year old striker broke the Plas Kynaston club's scoring record last season with 19 goals in 25 appearances - including four in one game against Welshpool.
But he has been unable to make any impact in this campaign as the Druids struggle near the foot of the table.
Shannon has not been without his problems during his time in the Welsh Premier staging disappearing acts on at least two occasions last season - a disciplinary situation which was given as one of the reasons for the sacking of manager Steve O'Shaughnessy.
But Maesydre boss Tomi Morgan has no doubts: "Shannon is a player with a proven record of scoring goals at this level," he said as he also bemoaned the loss of goalkeeper Lewis Solly this week.
"It's disappointing, but we could not compete with the terms offered to him by Aberystwyth Town."
