Goalkeeper Lee Williams could be signed as cover
for Gerard Doherty
TNS boss Ken McKenna is due to speak to veteran goalkeeper Lee Williams this week, after serving seven day's notice of approach.
McKenna is concerned that he currently has no cover for first-choice Gerard Doherty, with back-up Welsh Under-21 stopper James Coates no longer available.
Doherty's superb form this campaign has meant Coates has not been selected and he has now left the club.
Williams quit Connah's Quay Nomads recently after deciding that regular long-distance travel to games was no longer an option. If he does sign forms for TNS, it will be a return to Treflan for the 36-year old keeper who signed from Kidderminster Harriers and made a total of 46 appearances between 1999 and 2001, scoring three goals from the penalty spot.
Williams - who has managed Rhyl and was player/boss at Bangor City - has also turned out in the Welsh Premier for Conwy United and Flint Town United.
He started in both legs of the Saints' Uefa Champions League tie with Levadia Maardu of Estonia in 2000.
