MOTORMEN TOO GOOD FOR BANGOR, TOO
VAUXHALLS completed a fine double over two top Welsh Premier clubs with victory over Bangor City last night, having already overcome TNS in the pre-season build-up.
In an entertaining game, with chances at both ends, the Motormen took the lead with just 15 seconds on the clock when defender Hoy handled inside his own area and Cumiskey converted the penalty.
The same Vauxhall player then hit the woodwork twice with two fine efforts either side of a glaring miss by Hunt at the other end.
On 65 minutes Reay fired home an angled shot across Ralph for the equaliser. Four minutes later, however, Bangor were reduced to 10 men when Evans was dismissed for foul and abusive language and within minutes Vauxhalls had regained the lead courtesy of a smartly-taken goal from Ward.
A late strike from new signing Steve Rogers salvaged a 1-1 draw for Welshpool in last night's friendly at Gresford Athletic.
The Lilywhites found themselves trailing to Craig Williams' 42nd minute opener before hitting back five minutes from time with Rogers' third goal in two games.
Pool, meanwhile, continue their pre-season preparations when they visit West Midland league side Morda United tomorrow (7.15pm).
