NEWTOWN have been boosted by the signing of ex-Manchester City and Shrewsbury Town starlet, Richard Harris.
The talented central midfielder impressed in pre-season games and has agreed to sign for the Latham Park outfit.
"He is an exciting prospect and we can't wait to see how he develops under the guidance of Roger Preece," said Robins' chairman Phil Trenbath.
Harris, 19, attracted interest from other Welsh Premier clubs and scored on his debut in Newtown's 3-1 win against a Chester City XI.
He was also prominent in a 4-0 win over Guilsfield.
Says Trenbath: "With the addition of Richard Harris and the resigning of Steve Futcher, we have made two good additions to the squad.
With Danny Barton feeding off their talents, we hope to be more of a free flowing attacking force this term."
An experienced striker also looks set to join the Robins, while Preece is waiting on a decision from a former Football League central defender.
