"WE DIDN'T KILL CROWS OFF" - McKENNA
"If you don’t kill a team off, anything can happen in the last couple of minutes" - McKenna
IT took a goal deep into stoppage time to prevent TNS from claiming their thirteenth victory of an unbeaten league campaign, away to Cwmbran Town.
“It was very frustrating, but in the first half we didn’t play well,” said boss Ken McKenna.
“They were the better side and were unlucky not to go in two up at half-time, but we managed to score just before the break to go in level.
“In the second half we really got to grips with the game, took it to them and we squandered five or six good opportunities.
“As with all games, if you don’t kill a team off, anything can happen in the last couple of minutes.”
Lee Hunt's late goal for Rhyl secured the verdict at Newtown and McKenna knows the title race is still wide open.
“After the last couple of years, we are taking nothing for granted,” he said.
“We are four points clear at the top with a game in hand, so while we are in a good position there is still a lot of work to do.”
