SMALL DIP IN PREMIER CROWDS |
 |
A COMPARISON with the same half-way stage of last season shows that Welsh Premier League attendances have fallen slightly.
Although the average for this campaign to date is well short of last season's overall 300, it falls just five short of the 273 average crowd who had watched games up to 15 December 2003.
The 16 clubs who were in the league last year
have actually seen gates increase by 4% with champions Rhyl enjoying the biggest hike of just over 100%, from 299 to 599.
Eight other clubs have seen gates rise, including Caersws (41%) and Porthmadog (21%).
However, Welshpool Town's attendances have dipped alarmingly by 31%, Caernarfon's by 25% and gates at Park Avenue have slipped by 22%.
Newcomers Airbus are averaging 148, with Llanelli at 201.
