TNS STRIKE FORCE SINKS LIDO
Michael Wilde dives to head Saints' second goal past Afan Lido keeper Brian Thomas

Afan Lido 0-2 TNS
Welsh Premier League
Sat 18 Dec 2004: Away - Afan Lido Stadium

MARC Lloyd-Williams and Michael Wilde added to their ever-growing Welsh Premier League goals tally as TNS overcame Lido 2-0.
But it took the Saints more than an hour to breach the home side's stubborn rearguard on a rain-soaked surface at Aberavon.
John Leah crossed from the left for Lloyd-Williams to send his header from the edge of the six yard box past Lido keeper Brian Thomas.
Gerard Doherty in the TNS goal was a virtual spectator as Saints dominated proceedings against a struggling Lido outfit who showed little ambition other than to keep their lines intact.
John Leah powered a 20-yard free-kick just wide in the second minute and Thomas did well to keep out another 20-yarder from the skipper.
Lloyd-Williams powered a header just over the bar, but John Lawless had to come to Saints' rescue with a goal-line clearance from Carl Evans in a rare Lido attack just before the interval.
Steve Evans joined up with the attack and twice headed over from Naylor corners, with another effort just tipped over the bar by Thomas.
Wilde made certain of the points three minutes from time when he dived to score with a close range header from Martin Naylor's free kick.
TNS manager Ken McKenna was philosophical after the game: "They put men behind the ball and set out to make things very difficult for us," he said.
"Add to that the conditions and this was a game where we just had to keep plugging away and keep putting the ball in the danger areas."
Proceedings ended on a sour note when a Lido fan charged the barriers in an attempt to attack TNS players as they came off the pitch and also assaulted a visiting spectator.
