CWMBRAN Town kicked off their Uefa Cup campaign with a comprehensive defeat at home to Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa.
The Maccabi defence was as tight as the security at the Cwmbran Stadium.
The Crows battled hard but two goals in the first half hour gave the visitors a comfortable cushion and a third seconds before the end makes the second leg in Izmir a formality.
The Israelis went ahead when Adoram Keise's chip was knocked to Dante Lopez for Idan Tal to skip through the Cwmbran defence and then round 'keeper Marty Ellacott before slotting home.
Just after the half hour, Michael Zandberg's well-struck shot from the edge of the area flew into Ellacott's far corner.
Cwmbran tightened up considerably after the break and restricted the visitors to a handful of corners.
But the tie was finally put beyond Cwmbran when a fine save from Ellacott rebounded to Rosso on the edge of the area and his first time chip to the far post was neatly headed in by Lopez.
