TNS Ladies 4-0 Kidderminster Ladies
Welsh Midlands Regional League
Sun 27 Feb 2005: Home - Walford College
TNS Ladies kept their promotion bandwagon rolling and their unbeaten league
record intact with this latest win.
It was a good all-round performance by TNS and with most of the game being played
in midfield, neither keeper was
rarely troubled.
Verity Farrell got them off to a flying start with a 23 yard free kick in just
the 5th minute and just six minutes later it was 2-0 when Sarah Parton crossed
from the left for Jemma Lloyd to shoot home from 8 yards.
Parton herself made it 3-0 in the 36th minute with a shot from inside the penalty
area after an intricate move involving Sally Jones and Stacy Davies.
The fourth goal came just three minutes into the second half when Lloyd scored
her second of the game with a waist high tap in from close range after Kate
Challinor's cross from the right.
This latest win sees TNS move nine points clear of second placed West Brom (who
have 2 games in hand) and 12 points clear of third placed Kidderminster with
a game in hand.
Next Sunday, TNS are due to be at home to Birmingham area side Rea Valley in
the league, with kick off at the Walford College ground at 2.00pm.
Meanwhile, in the draw for the Shropshire Women's County Cup, TNS Ladies have
been given a home tie with Wem Town. The game is also due to be played on Sunday
20th March, also at Walford. |
