STEVE Evans has been voted the Welsh Premier League’s player of the month for February.
"With the title race hotting-up into a clash between TNS and Rhyl, one player that has proved priceless over the last month for the Llansantffraid club is Evans," says the official citation from the league.
"His marshalling of the back four has created a virtual barricade, having conceded only 20 goals in 25 games."
Now in his sixth season at Treflan and one of only three survivors, along with Ward and Toner, from the 2000 title-winning side, Steve joined TNS in February 2000 from Crewe Alexandra after starting out with West Bromwich Albion.
He has now made 102 Welsh Premier appearances, scoring 21 league goals, and is a regular pick for the Welsh semi-professional international side.
Aberystwyth Town's David Burrows is the manager of the month after guiding his side to 10 points from six games.
