CWMBRAN Town's UEFA Cup adventure ended in Turkey on Thursday night with a second 3-0 defeat against Maccabi Haifa of Israel.
The Crows kept their opponents at bay for most of the first half, and should have taken the lead. But Jaime Edwards was guilty of a poor miss from Shaun Mainwarning's corner to waste their only real chance of the evening.
Maccabi grabbed the opener 10 minutes later when Yaniv Katan slotted in Avishay Zano's in-swinging corner.
And they increased their lead in first half stoppage time when Giovanni Rosso unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the area which left Cwmbran 'keeper Martin Ellacott with no chance.
Cwmbran boss Brian Coyne switched things around after the break, but the pattern of play remained the same.
Adoram Keise curled a free-kick from just outside the area inches wide of the left-hand post, before an ambitious effort from Michael Zandberg drifted over.
Maccabi eventually made it three on the night shortly after the hour-mark when a defensive lapse allowed Zandberg to slide home from close range.
Edwards almost gave the visitors something the cheer at the death, but his excellent shot was pushed aside by an otherwise redundant Nir Davidovitch in the Maccabi goal.
