Saints want to sign Welshpool's Michael Jackson (top) seen here in action against his former club Rhyl
TNS have served seven days' notice of approach for Welshpool Town's Michael Jackson and hope to secure the defender's services for the remainder of their Welsh Premier campaign.
Jackson, 24, played a part in Rhyl's title success last season after arriving at Belle Vue from Southport in the summer of 2001.
He moved to Maesydre before the current campaign and has made 21 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring three goals.
"Michael's performances for Welshpool have been very solid and he would give us a bit more strength defensively," says TNS general manager Ian Williams.
"We need to add to the squad, it's been a very long season and the competition for places can only be a good thing.
"We plan to talk with Michael over the weekend and hope he will make the decision to sign," he added.
Welshpool chairman Steve Hughes says: "Jackson is a valuable member of our squad and is an asset I would be sorry to see go."
