WELSHPOOL Town have moved quickly to quash fears that their board was on the verge of quitting.
Financial director Hayden Williams has reassured supporters that the directors remain committed to the Maesydre outfit, despite falling attendances this season.
In spite of a much improved season on the field under manager Tomi Morgan, Pool have seen attendances slip by more than 13% on last season and led to the board issuing a questionnaire to fans at last night's home game with Caersws, asking for views on the future.
"As directors we would like to know if our time and money is worthwhile to the community and if there is enough support to continue a club in the Welsh Premier," the questionnaire stated.
But Williams says the purpose of the survey is not a defection by the board, but a genuine attempt to seek guidance from the community.
"I think we are guilty as a football club of not doing as much as we can and we are just testing the water to find out what people want," said chairman Steve Hughes.
