KEN McKenna set his men a target of 77 points to win the Welsh Premier League title, but four more points will do it!
After Rhyl slumped to a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Bangor City, the Saints' home win over NEWI Cefn Druids leaves them eight points clear of their main rivals with just four games left.
If the Lillies were to win all their remaining games their points tally would be 74, so with a goal difference of +55 compared to Rhyl's +29, TNS realistically need a win at home to Cwmbran Town and one point from their remaining three away games.
"Until it's mathematically impossible for us to be caught I won't be taking anything for granted," says McKenna, who has seen his side finish as bridesmaids for the last three seasons.
But surely the advantage is too great now for TNS to bottle, even though Rhyl have an easier run-in with fixtures against Newtown (h), Caernarfon (a), Cwmbran (a) and NEWI Cefn Druids (a).
The big prize that beckons for Saints is the double - with Rhyl standing in their way yet again in the Welsh Cup semi-final next Sunday.
Hulse will have his men pumped up for that as he sees the title slipping from his grasp.
