Kidderminster Ladies 1-2 TNS Ladies
West Midlands Regional League
Sun 3 Apr 2005: Away
TNS Ladies kept up their title challenge and their unbeaten league record intact
with a 2-1 win away to Kidderminster on Sunday.
In a full blooded encounter that was a good advertisement for women's football,
Sam Rodgers' shot following a good move gave Kiddy the lead in the 9th minute
before Verity Farrell equalised in the 43rd minute with an unstoppable low shot
from 25 yards.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first with end to end football
on a hard and bumpy pitch. The winner came in the 88th minute when Jemma Lloyd
crossed from the left and Sarah Parton scored with an overhead kick from around
the penalty spot.
TNS are without a fixture this Sunday (10 April) as the originally scheduled
away trip to Stratford was rearranged and played earlier in the season.
Their next game is away to Stoke City Ladies on Sunday 17 April (kick off 2.00pm). [David Figg] |
