POOL BOSS DEFENDS LOCAL SIGNING
WELSHPOOL Town manager Tomi Morgan has defended his recruitment of defender Charlie Jones from Cymru Alliance Guilsfield.
Jones was brought in to cover for the departure of Michael Jackson to TNS and the recent unavailability of Dave Norman.
But Morgan came under fire from Guils' boss Mike Barton who accused his opposite number at Maesydre of "disrespect" after Jones was included in Saturday's squad for the visit to Haverfordwest County.
"I was angry because we were down to the bare bones for our league game at Lex XI," complained Barton. "I am not happy with the way Guilsfield have been treated by our rivals and I have let my feelings be known."
However, Morgan defended his actions saying: "Charlie has trained with Welshpool and signed for the first team. He also intimated that he was keen to be given a chance in the Welsh Premier."
