NEWI Cefn Druids have been saved from relegation after Buckley Town withdrew their application to join the Welsh Premier League today.
The Cymru Alliance champions needed substantial investment at their Globe Way ground to meet the top flight's criteria and chairman Peter Gomery had said earlier in the season that, financially, the club was probably not ready.
However, on-field success had led club officials to reconsider, with Premier League secretary John Deakin giving Buckley until Tuesday to ready their ground for a final inspection.
The only club to be promoted will be Welsh League runners-up Grange Quins, although the step-up is still subject to ratification from the league's annual general meeting.
