TNS Reserves 5-2 Abermule
Llansantffraid Village Cup, 1st Round
Sat 20 September, Home - Park Hall, Oswestry

MIKE Wilde (pictured) and Steven Beck both scored twice as TNS Reserves moved into the second round of the Llansantffraid Village Cup, with a victory over Honda Division (One) leaders Abermule.
Saints fielded a blend of youth and experience with four players from the first team in the starting eleven.
However they fell behind early on when some sloppy defending allowed Abermule to open the scoring. TNS levelled almost immediately with a well taken header from Mike Wilde.
Abermule showed why they are leaders of the first division with a superb passing move leading to the goal which put them 2-1 ahead.
TNS continued to battle hard and drew level when Steven Beck found himself in the clear. As the Abermule defenders looked for offside Beck coolly slotted home the equaliser.
The half continued with chances for both sides but the score remained level as the half time whistle sounded.
The second half began with both sides working hard in the midfield but creating little. However it wasn’t long before TNS stamped their authority on the game.
The attacking threat of Abermule gradually decreased and as the game entered the final 10 minutes it was Saints who looked the more likely to win the game.
The breakthrough finally came for the home side when a right wing cross from Tom Roberts floated over everybody and stuck in the stantion to make the score 3-2.
The fourth goal arrived shortly after when Steven Beck was again put through to score.
TNS sealed the victory when Mike Wilde chased a long ball through the middle and won the race with the Abermule keeper to head home.
