John Lawless is stretchered off at Maesydre
INJURY problems continue to mount for Saints' boss Ken McKenna after John Lawless was stretchered off during the League Cup tie at Welshpool on Monday night.
The winger was taken to Wrexham hospital at half-time with a suspected broken foot after a tackle involving Pool's Mark Thomas.
The latest mishap leaves McKenna with just 13 fit full-timers ahead of opening Welsh Premier League visit to Porthmadog on Saturday, and the boss would welcome a positive answer from AFC Telford transfer target Alfie Carter to fill the gap.
Phil Baker is still at least a week away from going back into training after injuring an ankle in the pre-season friendly against Witton Albion.
John Leah's knee is continuing to mend, but the midfielder is yet to resume training, while wing back Martyn Naylor faces further treatment at Gobowen Hospital after a scan revealed a cyst on his knee.
To add to McKenna's woes, promising youth midfielder Mark Davies picked up an injury in Reserves' action at the weekend.
