Sat 27 August 2005: Away - The Traeth

GOALKEEPER Richard Harvey only arrived at The Traeth in the summer to replace the departed Ged McGuigan, but he produced a wonder show to deny TNS all three points.
With 11 minutes remaining, Alfie Carter had a superb chance to put the game beyond Porthmadog's reach when he was put through by Scott Ruscoe, but he was denied by the keeper and the home side immediately counter-attacked.
Les Davies ran through the Saints' defence like a knife through butter to send an unstoppable equaliser past Gerard Doherty.
Davies had beaten Michael Jackson to an 11th minute header to provide Carl Owen with the chance to strike the opener from 15 yards.
But TNS were ahead by the break when, in a rare mistake, Harvey could only palm away a Marc Lloyd Williams shot and Michael Wilde seized on the rebound.
A well-worked free kick on the stroke of half-time saw Carter and Jamie Wood provide an opening and Lloyd Williams forced the ball home.
Second-half chances came thick and fast, with a combination of poor finishing and superb work by Harvey preventing a cricket score.
And TNS looked to be on the road to three points until Davies showed his class to snatch a point for plucky Port.
"We created enough chances to win six games, but if we don't develop a ruthless streak we are not going to win anything," said disappointed manager Ken McKenna.
