Fri 23 Sept 2005: Away - Deeside

ON paper it looks like a foregone conclusion. The Welsh Premier's bottom club still without a point against one of only two unbeaten sides.
But as we know, it's a funny old game and Saints have generally had a tough time on Deeside, although last season's 7-0 romp equalled the best-ever winning margin in the league.
The exodus of George Horan, Tommy Mutton, Paul Mazzeralla and Gareth Owen has considerably weakened the armoury at manager Nev Powell's disposal and, with cash at a premium, he is being forced to groom young stars from the club's excellent academy to fill the boots of more experienced campaigners.
Nobody would bet against one of the Welsh Premier's most wily bosses ensuring Nomads beat relegation, but Ken McKenna won't be in generous mood as he looks for his side to continue their recent winning streak.
With the return of Martin Naylor last week, John Leah should also be in contention after a long absence along with Phil Baker, whose composure would help to stiffen a defence which has looked a little shaky so far this campaign.
