A ROW is brewing over the second postponement of Barry Town's scheduled Welsh Premier fixture at Welshpool Town last night (Friday 10 October).
The game was called off at the Dragons' request, because their home ground at Jenner Park was hosting Wales U-21's international with Serbia.
The club had been surprised to find an away fixture scheduled for the same night in view of the logistics involved in organising the international game.
Following the short-notice postponement, Barry received a fax ordering them to play the game at Maesydre this Tuesday, 14 October.
However, the club have said they will not fulfil the fixture on this date and ominously, according to League secretary John Deakin, "The WPL Board of Directors will be informed of the circumstances".
Barry feel that the fixture has been re-scheduled in haste and that there will be ample opportunity to play at Welshpool during the remainder of the season, with more notice for the necessary player work and travel arrangements to be made.
With the early season postponement of their home game with Connah's Quay, due to the financial crisis at Jenner Park, Barry will have played two games less than the majority of the League's clubs by the end of the weekend.
