McKENNA NOT GETTING CARRIED AWAY |
 |
|
A
rare blemish from Welshpool keeper Gerard McGuigan led to the opening goal
on Boxing Day. |
WELSHPOOL manager Tomi Morgan acknowledged an outstanding performance from keeper
Gerard McGuigan after Saints' 2-1 victory at Maesydre on Boxing Day.
"TNS played as well as any side I have seen in this league during the first-half
and I was pleased with Ged's contribution," said the former Llansantffraid striker.
"We pulled a goal back with about 15 minutes remaining and I felt we showed more
character as the game progressed.
"TNS are 12 points clear at the top having conceded just six goals so I am pleased
with the lads' performance and
hope
we can get something from the return game."
Saints complete the first half of the season unbeaten, but boss Ken McKenna is
not getting carried away.
"We have played half our games now and we will continue to take each match as
it comes.
"Welshpool play with a lot of spirit and even more character, so we do not expect
an easy game on Monday," he said. |
