Michael Jackson watches his spectacular overhead beat Port keeper Richard Harvey.
TNS 7-0 Porthmadog FC
Vauxhall Masterfit Welsh Premier League
Saturday 7 January 2006: Home - Treflan
TNS scored twice in the first six minutes to virtually see off Porthmadog.
Referees stop one-sided boxing matches but Mark Whitby was unable to prevent Porthmadog suffering further punishment as the Saints went on to score seven for the second time this season.
Steven Beck seized on a defensive clearance to notch the first after just three minutes and Marc Lloyd Williams then headed in from a Michael Wilde cross following superb work by Chris King.
Port keeper Richard Harvey made the first of several good saves to deny Lloyd Williams moments later, but constant pressure produced its reward when Steve Evans headed in at the back post from Scott Ruscoe's corner.
Wilde benefited when Lloyd Williams miskicked from a Wood cross just before half-time to get in on the act and in the second half TNS just powered away.
Ruscoe's cross provided for Lloyd Williams to head his second from in front of goal before Michael Jackson scored his first goal for the Saints with a spectacular overhead.
Lloyd Williams knew little about his hat-trick effort when a Wilde shot hit him in the face but, with 20 minutes left, TNS looked certain to record their best-ever Welsh Premier win. But to their credit, the visitors kept fighting to the end, and held their discipline, to leave the Saints frustrated.
