Maccabi Haifa's Kiryat Eli'ezer stadium
CWMBRAN Town's Uefa Cup draw seems to have been overlooked in the euphoria of the TNS - Man City clash.
But the Crows have a great tie with Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa.
Maccabi have a strong European tradition, notably beating Manchester United 3-0 in last years Champions League first group phase.
The game will be remembered for the first two goals, the opener smashed home on 40 minutes by Yaniv Katan who had scored the goal that gave Maccabi a shock lead at Old Trafford in the first group game, that eventually ended 5-2 to United.
Cwmbran could have played NK Publikum (Slovakia), K Sporting Club Lokeren OV (Belgium) or Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski (Poland).
Last year Maccabi were forced to play their home games in Cyprus due to the unstable situation in Israel.
With the recent unrest in Israel, it remains to be seen whether they will be allowed to play on home soil (the Kiryat Eli'ezer Stadium, pictured above) this time around. The tie could be switched to Izmir in Turkey.
Meanwhile, the Crows will probably play the home leg at Cardiff's Ninian Park.
Despite the long and possibly difficult journey for Cwmbran, the Maccabi Haifa draw looks like the best option, if only in financial terms.
